Provide educational resources, assistance and guidance to members.
To promote communication among its members.
To actively communicate with affiliate organizations with similar goals in order to increase awareness of the role of the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
To increase public awareness of the role of the lactation consultant
Encourage International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiner (IBLCE) certification for individuals providing breastfeeding support to mothers and families.
To make representations and serve as an advisory board to relevant authorities on issues of concern to our members.
To uphold the IBCLC as the highest standard for breastfeeding education and support, in order to protect both the public and the Lactation Consultant.
